I was referred by my Dr to Lancet for 3 swabs to be performed with his provider at Garden City. I informed the sister that I am on medical aid I however would pay and then claim back from the medical aid and I was informed by the staff member (Male with Rasta hair) that the Discovery rates and cash rates are the same. I then clearly indicated again that I will pay the discovery rates cash and then claim back from the mecdical aid. I also filled in my medical aid information on the form. I was charged cash rates. When I phoned discovery with regards to my query they informed me that if I claim they will only pay back discovery rates which amounts to 66.20 per swab and I was charged R84 per swab which means I will loose 17.80 per test that will not be paid back to me. I have funds available in my savings but I have to go for a operation and would not like to waste my funds. When I spoke to a sister Sadie just now which is one of the managers at Garden City Lancet she stated listen sweetie I have to get my facts together before I can phoine you back and then dropped the phone in my ear. How will she phone me back. BAD BAD ATTITUDE. I will never use Lancet again.
