We booked in to Protea Hotel Kruger gate on 27 December 2012 and the experience we had was nothing short of horrific. Upon check in at roughly 4 pm the room was still bein serviced. While we were still in the room housekeeping knocked about twice to bring in supplies. I would have expected that 4 pm the hotel room would have been cleaned and I would b able to relax in peace! The room was not even cleaned properly as there was still hair on the floor. We had requested a room with twin beds however our request was not honored. What is the purpose of specifying upon booking if that request will not be honored? The room we got was unpleasant for the price we pay per night i was extremely dissapointed. The F&B staff are extremely rude one incident that stands out is when the lady who was carving meat told me to serve my own potatoes can't I see that there is a tong for that purpose? Upon check out a refund of R62 was due to us but all the lady said was "everything is ok" only upon requesting a Guest folio did I notice the refund. Makes one wonder what her intentions were. It's safe to say I will never visit that hotel ever again. Horror doesn't even begin to describe it.
