I joined Medihelp previously being on discovery. We were accepted with no waiting periods or exclusions. Now I have a issue that I needed to book my wife in to have a operation to her finger just to be told that this was a pre exsisting condition and that they have decided the procedure would not be covered. What then does no exclusions mean? My wife had a bump or swelling of some sort on her finger that we had checked out whilst still on discovery. The doctor decided that if it didn't bother her then it was not serious and was not a threat of any sort. My wife felt that it would be pointless to operate as it didn't bother her. However on the 3rd of May we moved house and did all the moving and packing ourselves. Somewhere she hurt her finger and it started to swell. When the swelling did not subside we sort the advise from the doctor and explained all to him. He said he would need to operate. Medihelp said I did not disclose this as a previous medical condition so therefore they will not authorise the procedure and added that people go onto a medical just to do operations and then cancel. I have been part of a medical since 1992 so I am not impressed by the comment.
