On the 16th April 2013, my family suprised me with dinner at the Oyster Box for my 40th Birthday! It was all very well and wonderful until our starters arrived at the table! As I was indulging into my starter I shockingly noticed that ants were dancing and parading in my plate, I pointed this out my wife and she advised me that they weren't only dancing in my plate as I had one ant tap dancing on my lip too.
We immediately notified the waiter and the chef came by our table to apologise and offered me a fresh Plate, however my appetite at this stage was somewhat left wanting! The chef did advise that the ants came from the flower that was on the plate for decoration. If this was the case, Does an upper class venue such as the Oyster box not to have quality control measures in place.
Be as it may, I spent the following 2 days vomiting from the above experience.
My Family and I frequent the Twelve apostles when in Cape Town and have had many fond evenings of fine dining at their restaurant. Pity the Oyster Box doesn't follow suit.
A hefty Bill for dinner and a mouthful of ants later..., pity it was my 40th Birthday Dinner - not a night I want to remember.
