On 16th April my husband had to do a CAT Scan at Ethekweni hospital. We only had small amount of MSA left and decided to pay our part of the procedure cash. Radiology at Ethekweni, has taken our cash AND put the claim through medical aid. We were double billed! Over and above, this is. I called the call centre (Discovery) on the 1st May as soon as I saw my statement. Spoke with a helpful gentlemen - Hloni. Who advised to send the proof of payment to his Team Leader Desireen. Hloni had confirmed receipt of the mail from me and I did ask to be given feed back regarding the query. My savings balance is still R0.00. How does it take longer that 48 hours and over and above I've received no feedback! This is poor and pathetic service as usual from Discovery. Constantly having issues. We had to pay cash for CAT Scan because they refused to authorize his admission because the Opthalmic surgeon couldn't identify the cause of my husband losing his vision. Which was her reason for admission. So if someone is dying, do you need to know why they are dying before you approve the admission? All our family and friends are well aware of this and are even looking at changing their Med Aid
