Hi, pls can you assist? My son was admitted to hospital due to seizures on 9 May 2013 for observation. A CT scan & blood tests were done requested by the paediatrician as my son had fell and knocked his head the previous day at school. While doing his rounds the evening of 9 May he consulted a Neuro Surgeon being in the ward by chance on the CT scan. He then suggested that we get a MRI done for my son as he had an excess amount of water in the frontal part of his brain, which was a concern for his age.

The MRI was booked for the Monday 13 May @ 14:00 and authorised to be paid by the medical aid (hospital benefit). The paediatrician then discharged my son on Friday 10 May to be re-admitted into hospital for the scan. Now due to being discharged the medical refuse to pay the scan. After numerous phone calls, letters and tears we hit a brick wall every time. Although Discovery claims that they "Unlimited at 100% of DH rate if part of an approved hospital admission."

No one will take responsibility for this mistake & we have to suffer the consequences. This scan is a matter of urgency as my child can suffer brain damage if left unattended.
