42 inch 3D Full HD TV

I purchased at TV from Makro in Montague Gardens the 5th of May 2013. 7 Months down the line the TV screen just goes blank when turning it on. When you put the volume louder you can hear the the channel but no images. I immediately returned to Makro and asked that they exchange the TV for a new, after which the returns Manager promptly ignores my request and goes on to explain that there Standard Procedure. He tells me that it will need to be sent to LG because the problem is on their side and this entire process will take an estimate of 2 - 3 weeks!!! Completely unacceptable!!! DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO NOT HAVE A TV DURING CHRISTMAS, BOXING DAY & NEW YEARS. Maybe you would like to come entertain my children because they cant watch Dstv! I then asked the Manager were LG is because I would much rather take it there directly. Clearly he was waiting for that question because he knows the address out of his head! I took the TV to LG and after a week of whilst Christmas came and passed I had to call 6 times to only find out that they had filed the paper work with Johannesburg to return my credit which will take another week! Hello New Years! Pathetic!
