I purchased a 46" Samsung LED HD TV on 4 January 2013.
Last night while watching movies - 2 rows of black appeared across the lower part of the screen.
I phoned Makro this morning. They informed me I will need to transport the 46" TV in my car, back to the store.
They will send it in to Samsung, and I can expect a 3 to 6 week turnaround on the repair, if a repair is possible.
Slightly annoyed, I phoned Samsung South Africa. Just as I was about to start complaining - the Samsung operator informed that because it is under warranty, Samsung will send out an engineer TO MY HOUSE, to inspect the TV, repair if possible, if not, confirm with the store that I'm eligible for a swap-out. This will lessen the possibility of further damage due to transport.
I'm surprised at the run-around advice Makro gave me to have this issue handled.
Makro - please inform your customers of the great after sales service Samsung provides on larger (physical) products.
