I upgraded to the Galaxy S4 about 3 months ago. The phone suddenly became plagued by battery problems: The phone would abruptly switch off, restart continuously, claim I had 60% battery and then after randomly restarting a few minutes later it claimed the battery was critical, as well as demonstrating unusually short battery life; the phone has been experiencing this erratic battery behaviour almost every day.
Apparently this has been a widespread problem with Samsung Galaxy S4s, which has resulted in Samsung offering replacement batteries from their Smart Care Centers (there are only 3 in my country, South Africa). However, I am extremely disappointed by Samsung's customer service.
Firstly, Samsung lauds it's service with the claim: "The world's best products deserve the world's best service." Surely this should entail letting all customers know about a possible and widely documented fault with some of their devices? Secondly, all the Centers are at least 6 hours drive from my city (East London) - So how am I to get this replacement battery from the company with the supposedly the best service? My new phone is malfunctioning and I've yet to receive this world class service.
