I spoke to Nadiama at this institution, the reason for my query was that i lost and certificate and needed an re-issue on a subject i paid R13000 on. they first asked me allot of irrelevant questions and finally insisted on getting my student number, to my surprise my ID number is not good enough for them to search on their Data base for my records. I mean since when is an ID number not enough to search on any once records. I then provide my student number with my ID number. Her answer a very rude and condescending "it will take 15 days to get this information from our server because its on archive" first does she even understand what archive means? Her rude tone indicated that she does not even understand what she was talking about. She said it was eight years ago and that that server is offline, but why do we have backups on systems. I am an Technical Support guy i deal with Data bases as old as late 60's it take three minutes to run a scan through it and none of my user get to experience any rude answer from an knowledgeable person. Electronic data base is meant to be easy to access and 15 working day... plus being rude on top without having to listen to what is being said...
