South African Council For Educators
Canadian denied Registration after 5.5 months!

I cannot even squeeze in the past 6 months of headaches that I have had with SACE. I sent over a package from Canada back in September (with a money order of R250) as well as all documents to register with SACE. The Canadian Ministry of Education needs a letter from SACE (as I was educated in SA for my post-grad certificate in education at UKZN) documenting that should I ever return to SA, I could teach in a regular classroom. Six - eight weeks go by (no communication). Contact SACE and they have received my package and are doing the registration (should be done by mid to end December). End of January, and I still have not received registration in mail. My mother-in-law (who is South African) calls and they inform her that they are waiting for information from ME! NO communication had been sent to me at all from SACE. They send me a letter about what they need. A month and I scramble and obtain said information and it is received by SACE. They then send me an e-mail that due to a SACE paper in 2008 (which they have yet to send me), I can not register with them. Sent massive letter of complaint to SACE members and Higher Education and Training - have heard NOTHING!
