Instead of drilling two holes in the brickwork, the door fitters drilled it in the cement between the bricks when they attached the tension spring plate to the wall. This action caused the wall to crack on the outside as the cement area is also part an single layer arch. All that I need is for them to move the plate to a different part of the wall.
After numerous complains to their office via telephone and email I received the response below:
"after a conversation with the fitters that installed the door they cannot recall any wrong installation of tension spring garage door brackets, ...and if wrong install the door would not work. Can you please send us a picture of the incorrect installation of tension spring garage door bracket for us to be able to formulate a response to you urgently. John Levendal. "
Since when does a reputable company expects a customer to take a photo to proof wrongdoing. It should be the norm to send a company inspector to the premises to ascertain what went wrong. Your aftersales service is poor, unprofessional and non-existent and I would advise future customers to take note.
I will get someone else to fix your mess, so don't bother to contact me.
