I had a solar geyser installed by RC Bosman just over a year ago. The system, approved by SABS and Eskom, uses a WE Geyser and cost over R30000. From early on I complained about the water smelling of rubber.
Around 2 months ago the water coming out of the geyser became yellow in colour.
RC Bosman say this is because the geyser is rusting, apparently because the solar system heats the water to temperatures that the WE Geyser cannot cope with.
WE Geysers, despite apparently replacing other geysers with the same issues, are now refusing to fulfill their 10 year warranty on all new claims.
