When my electric geyser burst, I decided to replace it with a solar geyser and take advantage of the Eskom rebate on high pressure solar geysers (not applicable on low pressure geysers anymore).
I looked on the internet and came across a company called Bluepools who installs a geyser called Solarize. I spoke to Perry and he sounded quite informed about the products he sells.
He told me that he is running a special on a solar geyser at the moment for R12 500 fully installed. I asked him whether he is listed with the Eskom rebate program and he told me yes. He sent me a photo of what the flat type geyser would look like. The one instaled did not look like that at all.
He basically installed a low pressure geyser with a booster pump to make it feel like a high pressure geyser. I obviously got no rebate!
The controller installed was also not designed to operate a booster pump from, but he connected it anyway.
Low pressure geysers cost a lot less than the one he installed, and he refuses to do anything about it.
Please don't walk into the same trap I did.
