I Took My Yamaha R1 in for a complete service plus fork seal change to Yamaha Centurion in January this year
I asked them to please check everything on the bike from front to back. One of the things that needed to be done was that my rear brake pads needed to be replaced which they said they had done. three months later i am sitting with metal on metal with my rear brake disc and i had done 6000 km in this time baring in mind that I hardly use my rear brakes unless its for an emergency stop or heavy braking which happens very minimal. When i contacted them and told them that i think that the serviceman might have not done the rear brake pad i was told that he definitely did and that the brake pads were not the top of the range. I then spoke to one of the salesman who races bike and explained the scenario to him and even he said that 6000 Km on rear brakes that don't get used as often as the front is very low. I also then showed them my front brake pads which i have already done over 25 000km on which still have about 25% life on them. The response i got was they cant do anything about it except fit new brakes for me that i will still need to pay for. Yamaha will never see me agai
