McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes False Advertising or incompetence?
I bought a Ford Fiesta 1.6 Trent from McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes in June 2009 with a 60 000 km/ 4 year services plan and that's what I paid for. I understand that the services plan will expire if you reach 60 000 km or 4 years, but I've reached neither of the two...
I took the vehicle for a service this week, it's now 3 and a half years later... vehicle mileage 46 000 km, according to McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes I have to pay for the service since the service plan actually only covers 3 services!! This is False advertising and a rip off...
I phoned McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes to query this matter and spoke to Madelein, she was very rude after I asked a few questions querying this matter, she made me feel like I was stupid to ask a question like that. She then told me to rather contact the services department call centre.
Her exact words were: " I know it is stupid, but that's how it works, we only cover 3 services even though it's a 4 year / 60 000 km services plan"
This is unacceptable and makes no sense at all, how can Ford sell a vehicle with a 60 000 km /4 year service plan, BUT it only covers 3 services...
