I moved from Durban to Nelspruit in January and used Stuttafords van Lines. After they insisted on packing my furniture themselves to avoid damages, they still managed to damage various furniture and appliances. On the day of the move the confirmed that they could only be there at 2pm in the afternoon and I arranged with my landlord to supervise the move. They then arrived only at 4pm and left at 10pm that night! I am only one person and do not have a whole household full of furniture.
On the day of delivery they phoned me for directions, but kept on saying they are from Pickfords?
My metallic front washing machine and double door refrigerator is full of dents, the corner of one of my bookcases was chipped off. I picked up the chip after they left. My corner unit couch was wet on both sides even though it was wrapped in plastic. (It was raining on delivery day.) My 47inch flat screen TV has scratches on the frame. These are items they insisted on placing in crates? I have been trying to claim from them as I took insurance, but they refuse to send me the claim forms.
