We relocated from JHB to Ballito in December and chose Pickfords to pack and move us. What a mistake that was. We paid for special packing on all our bedroom furniture. All our bedroom suites x3 were less than a year old. As it was unloaded every item was not wrapped and damaged. As we opened boxes we found a lot of items had been. My daughters memory box was destroyed and items missing out of it. A bike bought for Xmas that hadn't been used broken. Insurance what a joke they will only partly pay out so why bother writing replacement values. Given the option to fix or replace bedroom we wanted replacement..not a chance so now we will have to sit with 2nd hand furniture. As I write this we have still not been paid out and we moved a few months ago. I wanted to know what happened to the staff that packed up and clearly removed items and never used special packing..I am yet to hear! This move cost a lot and clearly they benefited from it and we are left with the loss and damage. The director said this has never happened before... really from what I see on this site that is all that happens. I don't want a response I just want everyone to see this and NOT TO USE THEM
