The original quote showed a total of R621. This included all items except the deposit. Some of the items in this total were listed as due on pickup however considering I didn't pay 1 cent beforehand, technically the whole amount was due on pickup. Also, if 5 items are listed with a total underneath them you generally assume that all those items have been included in the total.
After renting and returning the car in the perfect condition I was e-mailed the bill. They had charged me the R621 and then also charged me for some of the items that were originally included in the R621! - they double billed me on at least two items.
To add insult to injury, they then overcharge me on re-fuelling by suggesting that the amount of fuel required for the number of kilometers I did equates to a fuel efficiency in this vehicle that is 25% worse that published figures for that vehicle. This after I mainly used the vehicle for highway driving!
After raising this with them they responded to say that I was wrong about the first part and that they would ask the branch to explain the second one. 8 weeks later and I still haven't heard anything.
I will never use Europcar again!
