On Friday took my 2000 Golf Estate in for instrument cluster coding. Received the car back with report:(1). Do Instrument cluster coding (2) Do GFF with Vas for cluster fading away (3) cluster to be replaced = R7584.42.
When i asked for the printout they could not produce it due to the cluster fading away. According to the mechanic he took the cluster apart and did all kinds of tests.
Only work done was cleaning the car, and the instrument cluster still not working. They charge me R570, a total ripoff.
I took the car home, disconnected the battery terminals and instrument cluster is working.
What the did the mechanic do? I want my money back.
