To whom it may concern:
I booked my car rental (Ref: 272955592) towards the end of last year and was assured that I wouldnt have to pay anything else over and above the R2000 deposit (as I was booked on the executive plan) when I went to pick up the car I was told they require an additional R7000 as the excess for the vehicle.
None of this was mentioned when I made the booking on the phone nor did I see anything in the terms and conditions.
I had taken out a credit card expectially for this purpose and didnt think I needed a large sum of money on it (after confirming with your consultant). Hence I was unable to fit the new bill on the 2 December.
Not only did this result in great embarrassment, I was also stranded for most of my holiday.
Further when I emailed the sales consultant on the morning of the 2nd January informing him of my trouble he didnt bother to respond in any form.
Kindly advise on the way forward. I have now paid close to R2000 for a rental booking that I was unable to use.
When I contacted First Cars customer service they confirmed that I was not the 1st client unhappy with the service recieved from [URL Removed]

Adi
