I reserved a rental car online from Europcar for a period of 11 days in December and was quoted R2520 Guaranteed price (or so it said). I picked up the car on the arranged date and insisted that I had my own very good insurance and did not want any kind of accident or any other insurance. The agent who was very pregnant and very keen to leave waived me off. I signed only one document. When I returned the car not only was the place closed and I had to take the keys to another inconvenient location, but I was not asked or told anything about excess charges. I had not refilled the petrol tank so expected to be charged for this. I then was charged an additional R4, 075 which I contested vigorously in a phone call. I was assured my bill would be altered, and it was not. I was also charged for an extra day, and was promised that this would be rectified. It was not. My rental for this car which should have been under $300 turned out to be nearly $700. I will never rent from Eurocar again. Cars rental from this company is a real ripoff!
