Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a visitor to Johannesburg, South Africa and my hotel recommended The Top Notch Car Rental c.c. for a car rental on the weekend 13-15 April, 2013 for 2 day rental. The rental agreement clearly states the customer is responsible for filling petrol tank or there is a 5% surcharge. I have a receipt for petrol where I filled the petrol tank at a petrol station less than 300 metres from the hotel where I am staying. I paid a fee for the car to be dropped off and a fee for the car to be picked up at the hotel. I have a parking receipt from the hotel with the date and time of arrival in their car park. This data and time is within 10 minutes of the date and time of the petrol receipt. Yet, Top Notch Car Rental charged a refueling fee of R80.00 even though I filled the tank and the needle was on full when it was picked up. The car was driven to their place of business and Top Notch Car Rental cc is now charging for their drive back to their business. The owner refused to remove the fraudelent charge. I would strongly recommend NOT to use this company as it is my opinion that this is not a reputable company.
