HUGO'S PANELBEATER: seizes car engine

On 16 Aug 2013 I broke my car's sump, while travelling on a dirt road in the KZN Midlands. Discovery Insurance contacted "Hugo's Panelbeaters" and arranged for the car to be transported via flatbed to the panel beating shop in PMB. Subsequently, after 3 months of delays, we have discovered via the car's installed "C-Tracking device" that the car was driven for another 4 days by the panel beater until finally on Tuesday 20 August 2013 when the tracking device was disconnected by the panel beater. We did not give permission to the panel beater to disconnect the tracker, neither did we give permission to the panel beater to drive said car, knowing that the sump was broken. Subsequently, the car was sent to VW in Durban, and after much deliberation, the car has been written off by Discovery Insure. This is unacceptable. The service by Babu and Co at Hugo's panel beater was less than mediocre and the fact that the car was driven (discovery insure has the proof) just shows that hugo's panelbeaters are not to be trusted by any private persons nor their respective insurers.
