My Daughter took her car to Cresta Auto for a service and a sticky accelerator. To try and resolve the accelerator problem the cable was changed and the car returned, the same sticky accelerator problem remained. I examined the old cable and found nothing wrong with it. There was no wear, fraying or binding on this cable.
I returned the car, told the service manager the new cable did not cure the problem, showed him the old cable had no damage and requested it be put back in the car and refund for the cable issued. He inspected the cable and said they would sort out the problem. We returned again in the afternoon and was informed that the problem was resolved and after test runs he, the service manager was now satisfied. To my dismay he also informed me that the old cable was in fact damaged. I asked for the cable and when re-inspected it now showed substantial damage which was not there before. To add to the insult it is very plain to see that this damage has been done with a tool and in a position on the cable where it is impossible for this type of damage to occur. I inspected the new cable on the car and found it to be a pirate part bearing no resemblance.
