I am sick to think that a public company can operate the way First Car rental does. I rented a vehicle from them on 19 October and returned it to them on 26 October. A week after that I phoned and requested them to refund my deposit of R1900-00. They informed me that I should be patient and wait for 4-7 working days and that it will not take longer than that to refund.
Today is day 10 and when I phoned customer service, they informed me that they are not to sure why the deposit has not been refunded. I did the inspection of the car together with the inspector when I returned the car and everything was in order. There is therefore NO reason why First Car should withhold my deposit.
I cannot wait for the money, I need it TODAY!!!
It is just too convenient for First Car to "forget" to refund a deposit... and in my eyes it is to withhold money which does not even belong to them.
I need an URGENT solution to my problem, and would like my deposit refunded to me before close of business today.
