Hyundai South Africa
Where has my money gone to?

I bought myself a in January 2011 thou Hyunday Kempton Park. A very neat VW Polo 1.4, 2005. One of the things offered to me was the credit life plan or Lifestyle Protection Plan through Regent Insurance. Elsabe, at Hyundai pre-selected the Silver Plan for me with the monthly premium of R113.51, which was already included in the monthly instalment.. Given the benefits listed, this sounded like a very useful product to have. I signed up for it and was all along under the impression that I had credit plan to cover me during rainy days. I say 'under the impression' because I know I was paying for it monthly. Just less than a month ago my employer announced that the organisation had financial difficulties and the board had decided on retrenchments. On 12 September 2013, i received a letter that I am retrenched. I did not worry much about my car's installments because I knew I had my credit life to fall back on. Guess what? when I called Regent Insurance to get the process going they told me I had no credit life and have sent me from pillar to post. I phoned Hyundai Kempton park and Elsabe said she will look into it. I called 24 hours later and I must say the tone was so unwelcoming.
