ANY ONE ELSE HAD MAJOR FAILURE OF THE ABS SYSTEM AFTER 3400KMS.BIKES 5 YEARS OLD AND BEEN SERVICED 4 TIMES BY DEALER.UNFORTUNATELY THE VISUAL SERVICES ON A NON SERVICABLE PART WERE NOT DONE.MY MISTAKE.SHOULD SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART NOT LAST LONGER THAN THIS.IT COSTS R20000 (TWENTY THOUSAND) TO REPLACE.IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THIS YEAR MODEL BUT NO RECALL WAS DONE.AFTER OWNING 9 BMW, S NEVER AGAIN.GOOD LUCK TO CHARLEY BORMAN .HOPE HIS ABS DONT BREAK ON HIS NEXT JAUNT.ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET SENSE OUT OF BMW IN THIS REGARD.3 MONTHS AGO THE BIKE PASSED A HALF AN HOUR DEALER INSPECTION TO QUALIFY FOR BMW INSURANCE.GIVEN AN A1 PASS AND A REPLACEMENT VALUE OF R94000.00.TODAYS VALUE WITH NO ABS R55000 MAX.
WHEN DOES A COMPANY ACTUALLY BECOME RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAD PARTS IT SUPPLIES.
COME ON BMW.RECALL ALL THOSE 2008 MODEL ABS.DONT RUIN YOUR NAME OVER PETTY VISUAL INSPECTIONS.YOUR COMPUTER SERVICE CANNOT DETERMINE IF THE ABS IS WEARING OUT, ALL IT CAN DO IS TELL YOU IT IS NOT WORKING.THIS I HAVE DIRECT FROM THE DEALER.
