I recently relocated From South Africa to Europe.
There are two issues that have shown poor training/quality.
1. My air-freight goods were not properly packed at my house and were repacked in the warehouse. This was due to poor packing and planning by the moving consultant, not the packers. As a result, some goods were damaged as they were squashed into boxes. I also object to my clothing being repacked in a warehouse. I do not know what conditions are prevalent in the warehouse!
2. My dining room chairs have been cracked and are all wobbly. There is a chunk missing out of my mahogany dining room table. I fully concede that shipping out of Elliott's control could have resulted in some damage but the fact that so many goods were damaged indicates that they should have packed the goods more carefully, using more bubble wrap and cardboard. They were fully aware that the goods would be transported by container to Europe.
Yes, my goods may be insured but I have carefully selected all my household furniture, I don't want to replace/repair it.
I do hope that these issues will be addressed and that this awareness aids Elliott in not losing more customers in future.
