As it happened the key to my car broke on Saturday 25 May 2013. I decided to contact Budget the Sunday to organise a rental vehicle until I could sort my car out which could take anything up to a week. Firstly I had to call the booking line several times to finally get some assistance. I booked the vehicle for collection from JHB International Airport, only to find out when I got there that the vehicle was booked at Cape Town International Airport. Luckily the shift supervisor managed to get me a vehicle and was very helpfull the only positive thing I could say about the service. The call centre did tell me that the release of the hold would take a day or 2 longer as it was a cheque card and not a credit card. This morning I queried when the hold would be lifted and was told that it could take up to a month. That is totally unacceptable, the call centre agent stuttered through our whole conversation never sure of his facts. I returned the vechile on Monday the 27th, 4 days early and have to date received no notification as acknowledement that the vehicle was booked in. This is not the service one expects, and defintely not the turnaround time one expects to get your money back.
