Please note that Budget now deducts (and not holds) the entire amount and apparently "refunds" it at the end of the rental. Last month my husband rented a vehicle from Budget whIch required a deposit of R11200. He subsequently rented again and returned the vehicle on Saturday, 14 December 2013. This means that a further deposit of R11000 was deducted from our account. R22200 IN TOTAL
We were informed by various budget personnel that the money would be refunded within 48 - 72hrs. Is this 4hrs per day at 18days. This is poor business practice. You hold the funds of your VALUED customers in order to earn more interest. Do not rent a vehicle from Budget. Other rental companies hold the funds and it is not deducted. I am assuming that since budget belongs to the Bidvest group, this is some brilliant idea from their group CEO to increase revenue.
Well we YOUR CUSTOMERS who are responsible for this revenue are not happy and will no longer be dealing with you. I reiterate, do not rent a vehicle from Budget as you will be spending the following 2 weeks post return, chasing for YOUR money.
