Not able to purchase item

I was at Engen on Columbine Street Johannesburg. I just put in R200 feul and paid for that. That went as per normal.

I then went to purchase a pack of cigarettes from the counter and was told that because it was under R35 I could not use my debit card and have to increase the purchasing amount.

Now I did not like been held to ransom, being forced to bumping up my basket because of some strange rule. The store manager did not want to help me as well. I then left without the goods. (Went to Spar across the road)

It is the last time I will use Engen as if my money is not good enough for you, then I will take it somewhere else.
