I went for dinner at Ocean Basket on the 27th of February 2013. My bill was R260, 00. They had some problems with their machine and said the money did not go through. I did not get a slip to say declined but I trusted the waiter as the owner came to assist her. They tried a few times until it went through. When I went through my bankstatements later that week, I noticed that the amount was deducted twice from my account. I immediately contacted the branch and spoke to the manager who said I must bring my bank statement and they will refund me. I went the next day and after having to wait about 40minutes she said the owner said he can't pick up anything in his account I must bring proof from the bank. The next day I went to the bank and got proof that the money left my account and is in theirs. I took the proof and the owner said he is sorry, my bank will have to reverse it as he can't do anything. My bank also refuses and says they can't reverse just anything. I feel it is Ocean Basket's responsibility and they are just refusing to be helpfull. They are treating me like I am the thieve when they in fact have my money and won't give it back.
