I had to make a booking for my birthday dinner party. Asked to speak to the manager and he proceeded to write down my request will standing in the doorway. When we eventually sat to discuss my booking this manager was more interested in if I had a boyfriend, and about my beauty instead of doing his job. When I put him in line he insulted me then attempted to ask me to make a deposit first if I intend to make a booking with Cappello. This came as a surprise because the 2 people who recommend Cappello to me have had dinner parties there with no deposits made. Really now, should I entertain being harassed and then my business being declined because I'm a black female and because this male feels his ego was bruised, in 2014 I don't think such should be acceptable. Plus when I called Cappello a few days later to make the same booking, the person I spoke to confirmed my booking and never asked me to make any deposits.
