I made a booking on the 16th of april for may 4th at 1400 for 20 people. I received a quote from shane of an amount of about R2000 or more. I rejected the quote and asked him to book the table as planned but I would only need 3 platters. I inquired about the service fee I was being charged.
Shane did not get back to me with a new quote for what I have ordered nor did he confirm if my booking was confirmed. I went to cappello on the 4th at 1300 and the manager present said my table was booked.
I was advised to let our waiter know when we were ready for the platters. I told them that I would order as soon as my guests arrived because some had cancelled.
Unfortunately only 3 guests arrived. We then ordered wings and drinks for the 3 of us. Late in the evening at around 1800 the manager told me I have to pay for the 3 platters I requested from shane.
I was puzzled because I had told our waiter that the other people were not coming it was just the 3 of us. I also don't recall asking them to start preparing the food as the host. I was then threatened with the police if I didn't pay. I was nany point made aware the platters were ready to be serve between 14:00 and 18:00
