Billed twice

My fiancee and I went to Cappuchino's on the 25th January to have dinner. When it was time to pay for our bill we requested to use the swipe machine (as we prefer not working with cash). When we entered our pin into the swipe machine the machine just died and the waiter told us that the transaction didn't go through and that we should swipe on the other machine which we did as the first machine died due to the battery not being charged. So they debited our account twice, we went back to them the next morning to go fix the problem and the manager Paul said they picked up the problem and that we will be refunded as soon as the manager above him comes back on the Monday. He said that his manager will phone us on Monday to arrange for the refund, which never happened. We go there once sometimes twice a month as the food is lovely but if this is the service we receive as regular customers, we will never go back.
