My girlfriend and I were camping at De Hoek Holiday resort just outside of Oudtshoorn a few weeks ago. On New years day we craved some sushi, and were delighted to find Ocean Basket open. We ordered a huge platter of sushi, and hake and chips to start off with. The fish was dry, tough and oily, but we had it anyway (we were hungry!!!). While having to fend off flies and other flying insects for about an hour, the sushi eventually came. Not only were the pieces flaccid and uneven, but all the avocado was brown, as well as some pieces of salmon. Our waiter reckoned it was fine to eat, but we insisted he inform the manager of the poor condition of our sushi. The manager explained that the sushi and avocado were just a bit overripe and we had nothing to worry about. At this point we sent the sushi back to the kitchen, where they threw the entire platter into the bin, and proceeded to re-make everything, without informing us of their intentions or any apologies whatsoever. Unfortunately for them, the sushi chef's "kitchen" was right next to our table. After waiting for another 10 minutes, I said we would rather like to cancel the sushi and pay for the drinks and hake we had. Thereafte
