It is well over a year since I left a negative assessment of this establishment on this good page.
My wife was given a gift voucher for this restaurant by a friend for her birthday and I agreed that we should go. She phoned the restaurant to check the currency of the voucher and was told that everything was in order. "Let's go and see if there has been improvement" we agreed and this was our joint approach to the event. No sooner did we present ourselves at the door than waiters began to argue over where we should sit. We finally gave a forceful directive and arrived at a table. Good point - the beer was cold and they did have sherry. My wife's order for starter was out of stock and so we moved immediately to the main course which came very speedily. It was, without doubt, the worst example of dry fish and undercooked chips that either of us has ever eaten.
We left money plus the gift voucher which exceeded the invoice and provide a small tip on the table. We had not even reached the car when the waiter (waitress - it was female) came running and screaming oaths and abuse at us for not paying the bill.
