McDonalds Woodmead did not have water supply on 11 July 2013. I went to buy meals and part of the deal is fizzy drinks. The lady (receiving orders) advised that there are no fizzy drinks due to no water. I asked what drinks are given in place of the fizzy drink and she advised of kiddies juice and some power drink.
My issue is not with the lady (as she's told / mandated what to do) but with the management of McDonalds. Why do they not reduce the price of the meal to be fair from a pricing model? McDonalds is making a huge profit on everything. There was another customer who was arguing the same verbally with the McDonalds staff about the same issue.
If a customer does not have enough money for a meal, McDonalds will not be kind to still give the whole meal. Why then can't McDonalds (and every other company) do the same? If you cannot offer all the 'items' that come for that price, then reduce the price, else give an alternative with the same price (or more, to compensate for the inconvenience caused).
This is unethical behaviour from corporates - because they have money, they can dictate to the masses.
