Pathetic Apology

After receiving a call from KFC Head Office to apologise for the lamp falling on my head, the man offered to pay my doctor's bills as KFC's compensation to me! He followed by saying, "it's not as if the light just fell on its own". This comment shocked and angered me! Then how did the light fall exactly?? My husband didn't whack it with his jacket! The sleeve of his jacket merely grazed the light! I countered his comment by asking where KFC's maintenance checks are to make sure that their fittings are secure to provide a friendly, family atmosphere? All I was told is that they were "working on it". And in response to offering to pay my medical bills, I have medical aid, so what's the point?! Pathetic and disappointing to say the least!
