On March 1st 2013, i was involved in an accident. My vehical door was damage and i could not drive the vehical. I phoned the call centre and a tow ruck was called and every thing was ok. The car was taken to the panel beater.
My question to Santam is 'what criteria di used to determine payouts to the service provider, in this case the panel beater, Who charged R15000.00 FOR A SECOND HAND DOOR.
No new parts fitted except for the clip that keeps the door open (this was flown in from Korea).
All my doors and windows could open. Now only 3 doors open after it was picked up. When queried with the Panel Beater and Assessor i was told' Wear and Tear 'does happen and it was not because of the accident.
Although my car is 14years old it was well taken care off. I could provide 50 or so wittness but the Assessor and the panel beater does not want to hear anything because the car is sorted for what it went in for.
NB.When the assessor first checked the damaged he himself said that the door was openingNow why the turn around.
What do i do. THE COMPLAINT IS NOT WITH SANTAM BUT WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDER AND THE ASSESSOR.
