Our BRAND NEW vehicle was rear-ended by an unlicensed driver. On confirming with Outsurance that I would lose my Outbonus regardless of the fact that it was not our fault - I went to a manufacturer approved panel beater for a private quotation which came to R12400. Considering the cost against the amount of my OutBonus I put in a claim with Outsurance. On taking the vehicle in for assessment, the assessment came to R2800!! It is important to note that the Assessor went to the SAME panel beater as I went to privately.
The differentiating fact between the two quotations was that the approved panel beater said that our diffuser had to be replaced to provide the same quality, considering it is a new vehicle and advised that the part be sprayed - the Assessor on the other hand asked for a quotation for spraying the part.
I took this up with Outsurance stating that it would make no sense in me losing my OutBonus for R2800. Kuben took the matter up with the Assessor and the panel beater and confirmed that the part would be replaced. I have just phoned the panel beater and the part has been sprayed!! Who do you think wins out of this?? They have gone behind my back to look after themselves
