First National Bank
FNB, you're killing me!!!

I received an sms on Friday afternoon to say that my account was in arrears by R2 861.51 and that the account would need to be brought up to date. On Saturday morning I went to the bank only to realise that as it was a public holiday, the bank was closed. I then arranged for an amount of R2 500.00 to be transferred to my account via EFT. This morning, however, they rejected my payments and charged me an amount of R139-00 for 4 debit orders (these are the 4 that were rejected) as the monies that had been paid into my account was not yet reflecting on the account. According to my branch, I should have ensured that there was enough money in the account... these are amounts that change every month, so I had not idea that there would not be sufficient money in the bank. As it was a public holiday, I feel that the bank could have allowed that 1 extra day to allow their customers to transfer the money across, but they wouldn't as they are making R139-00 for each debit order (whilst putting me in a worse financial predicament than I am already in). In total, FNB makes R556.00 out of me by doing absolutely diddly squat! FNB, you!!!
