Card application chaos

A month ago I phoned the Diners Club call centre to enquire regarding how to obtain such a card and the qualifying criteria. They advised that I do qualify since the ONLY criteria were income and age. This was disputed by my private banker so I phoned Diners Club again and spoke to a different person (Alton) who once more said the ONLY qualify criteria are income and age. He said I should just complete the web application form. So, I completed the application form and phoned again the call centre to confirm that it was received and all in order. They advised that they received the application and that I would get an answer within THREE business days. Now a month later and I still have no answer. I am flying to the US in a few days and without the intended Diners club card ordered almost a month ago.
