After years of banking with ABSA bank i was introduced to FNB. My reasons for switching, being affordable banking fees and excellent service however this came to a sudden turn. I switched to FNB Cheque account and i was informed by the consultant that i'd get free debit order, salary & beneficiary Switching. But to my surprise i was was charged for my debit orders and paid /- R300 monthly which was double the amount i expected to pay. When i called FNB call centre to enquire about my banking charges, i was informed that i was placed on an option that was ideal for people who seldomly banked. This was never conveyed to me as a customer, afterall i left my previous bank for more affordable and hassle free banking. I switched my salary trusting that i could manage my bills efficiently. It is only sad that i realised this only a year later.
