I applied online for a Virgin Money Mine Card on Tuesday, 2 April 2013. On Tuesday, 9 April, I was contacted by the courier company to schedule delivery of my card and it was delivered on Wednesday, 10 April. I gave the delivery guy all the required FICA documentation, and was told it would take about 2 days to process my paperwork, and that the PIN was in the mail. On Monday, 15 April, I phoned Virgin Money's call center to ask how long it would take for the PIN to arrive, as I had not received it yet. I was told I did not have to wait, I could go into any ABSA branch and have them activate a PIN for me.
I went to an ABSA branch on Monday afternoon, 15 April, and was told my card was not active as Virgin Money needed my FICA documents. The courier company had not delivered them yet. The lady at ABSA gave me Jomari's email address and said I could email her the documents and it would then take 2 days to process.
I emailed the documents to Jomari at 3pm on 15 April, by 1pm on 16 April I had an email from Jomari telling me my paperwork had been processed and my card was active.
Even with a small hiccup, from application to having an active card took only 2 weeks!
