I survived an armed at my home office in March. After being dragged around the house then cable tied face down on the floor they proceeded to take keys, electronics, cash, jewellery etc. I contact FFW to make a claim and they send their Risk Assessor to verify proof of purchase on the goods claimed for - no problem. He starts off by saying that his job is to be fair to both parties - well - I DISAGREE! After taking full inventory of our home contents and when the values I gave him for certain things were "too low" he took it upon himself to raise the value. The verdict - we were under-insured. Due to depreciation in price value to replace what was, FFW's claim amount was substantially LESS than our original claim and because we weren't adequately insured, we were PENALISED, leaving us just about empty handed. DISGUSTING. I trusted FFW to be fair and replace what was. It never crossed my mind that my insurance company would from me as well. I feel more done in by FFW than the thugs themselves. We religiously pay our monthly premiums just to be ROBBED again by our insurance. Now we have to pay more for "adequate" cover on home contents that depreciate?
