I went into the Karaglen Branch (Edenvale) of Standard Bank to make some minor changes to my account. It ended up taking about 2 1/2 hours - to do what had just taken me about 10 minutes to do at Absa. I went away thinking that that was by far the worst branch of any bank I'd ever been into in South Africa. When I checked on my bank statement in the following months, one of the changes I had requested had not been made - even though I had a paper in front of me proving that I had requested it to be done.

I phoned the Standard Bank Complaints resolution number, and almost a week later, the Manager of Karaglen Branch phoned me and was very helpful and gave me a remedy to the problem that I was totally satisfied with. So, congratulations to Standard Bank for listening when your customers say they are unhappy with something, and making a real effort to make it right. Thank you.
