Dispute over valid claim

Car broke down on 3rd of March 2013. Claim registered (Claim no 052 872). Damage assessed and quotes supplied by Dealer. Water pump failed completely on cold start and since the pump runs as an integrated unit with the car's timing system, it damaged the timing belt and bent valves.
Total damage R20k. According to policy and what was explained to me, I have unlimited cover to any part of cooling system.
Then I am told policy only covers for primary cause of failure so will only pay for water pump which is only R3600 of the total bill!
Provided Innovation and Guardrisk (underwriter) with the sufficient proof to illustrate that the water pump in this model car, does not run independently like other models, but is an integrated, non-separable unit which (when it fails) will cause the damage it did. (Dealership also backs me on this).

Escalated dispute directly to Guardrisk since Innovation just brushed me off.
6 Weeks later and still waiting for settlement after I also had to pay for repairs upfront to get my car back.

Unacceptable! Suffered massive financial losses. Dishonest and misleading. In total contradiction of the CPA. Will certainly take matters further!
