Having heard of the great deals from FNB, I opened an account as per their online directions. Received card but no details on my account? I struggled to activate the card and account and online banking for three weeks. Left a complaint in 2012 but it is still unanswered. I decided to close the account (not even having made two transactions) and closed it at the Centurion branch. Waited quite long for assistance, paid the banking fees outstanding but struggled significantly! After quite some time, account was supposedly closed, sms services were deactivated etc. I am still receiving adverts and notices regarding my account and other nonsense ads and no opt out!! Call Centre said account is still active. I want my account closed, my cellphone number and all details removed from the system and all services to be suspended immediately from both the marketing and banking departments!!! I don't have time to go to the branch every week I want proof that the account is closed since Centurion apparently cannot give me confirmation. Ridiculous. I have advised my friends and family to stay well clear of FNB and will continue to spread a very negative perception unless FNB finally assists
